As we heard green roof, it is not a roof painted in green, it is a unique growing facility. To grow plant on the roof is a way to be eco-friendly in our grey world so if one can allow it, it should be made.
The green roof types are tree main ones. The Extensive type is limited and there can grow different type of vegetation. The good part is that the area doesn't need drainage and irrigation systems and that makes them the one with the lower price.

Intensive green roofs are more advanced, their soil is deeper and that have irrigation and drainage systems. As it needs them, this type of green roof is more expensive but they are larger and there types of plants could grow whatever the owner of the building wants.
The last kind of green roofs is the semi-intensive ones. They are something between the other two types. They have deep soil which allows variety of plants but their price is not that big because their maintenance level is not that complex. It is good if the building has small space for roof.

Most of the green roof has several layers. They need structural supports and vapor control, no one want the water to flow inside the house that’s why waterproof barrier is required. There should be roofing membrane support and drainage layer.
When a house has a green roofs that means it has good insulation because vegetation is great barrier so the energy cost could be lower.
This type of roof has longer lifespan because the plant absorbs the UV layers and that way they protect the roof. It improves drainage when it rains. And they cost space because the gardens aren’t in the house but on the top of it.
