Veliko Tarnovo is one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria full with rich with history. Centuries ago, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Bulgaria. But nowadays tourists came not only to see the historical monuments but some of them seek this strange and ghostly hotel called Interhotel. It was a main touristic attraction before 30 years.

The idea haд not that traditional style of the times; the 20-feet height in front came down on the other side where the lobby was. The guests could see the river flowing down and the hotel is something like a midlevel fortress made in some Neo-modern style. The round shapes reminded us of the midlevel structures but there again are square angles which represented the age it was built.

The hotel took 14 years to complete and then in 1981 it was open. It is on the river curve like many other old houses built that way for many years. The view made it wanted by the tourist who could came to see Bulgaria at that time. It had 188 guest rooms, 8 halls and a swimming pool. It was such an engineering challenge but the e famous architect Nikola Nikolov and his team did great.

The glory years of the hotel were from 1981 to 1989. However, then it was sold to many different owners and companies so at last the hotel was left to the mercy of time and the weather after some attempts of being sold.
The big construction is not common so the people who like to remember the near past can have a memories revived in it. As it has this ghostly halo, many would like to visit it in searching for supernatural activities, although it is just a sad story of a hotel which cannot found its place in the present.
