Pripyat was a small town maybe nowadays it would be famous with one of the first amusement parks in Soviet Union. There is a Ferris Wheel, It could have been used for 37 years. But the park never opened. Because, there was the night between 25 and 26th of Аpril. And the humankind witnessed a nuclear catastrophe which wasn’t an act of war.
But what was stronger than radiation? The buildings there couldn’t leave as people did, but they cannot be damaged that way as well, maybe soaked with radiation for years. The only things that can tell the story of the Chernobyl tragedy are still there, with no words but reminding the world of the architecture of the Soviet Union.

The city was home for 13 000 apartments all in the block of flats. Now surrounded by green and the roads are cracked, but the line of the ways is in unison with the square and shapes of the blocks around. The main construction is wider made that way so there were some shops, cafés or parking lots. The colours which can hardly told by now, were mild and light which was very common for Soviet modernist architecture. As we go far away from there, an abandoned house near the river on two floors can be seen. However, they are not lonely, because the place of the tragedy became a place for dark tourism, so people came to see the falling paint and falling roofs, the scattered glass and gas masks.

The ghost town was found in the 70s of the 20th century and the citizens were evacuated only 16 years later in 1986, so the buildings were new by any standards. Maybe the town would be abandoned more or less with the Falling of Berlin Wall and maybe no one would hear about the small town near Kiyv, but it will be the part of the history of humankind till the end of time.
