9 strange places in Bulgaria that you won’t find in the guidebooks - part two

5. Razboy Monastery

This magical place is situated only 55 km from the Capital of Sofia. It is near Nishava river valley and maybe it was built for the first time in the 17th century. But it was destroyed three times as the last time costs the life of all the monks in it. There are stories that the revolutionist Vasil Levski hided there once upon a time.

6. “The eye”

It is near Omar Village. The soft limestone rock allows the nature and people to make them different and interesting forms, which can be used for different rituals of even a home to live in.

There is the Kostadin’s Monastery and the rock form was called the eyes or the ring as it is on the top of the monastery.

7. Momin skok

If you follow the Emen ecopath from Emen village and follow Negovanka river you will reach this magical place - the waterfall Momin skok. Under it there is a small pool with stony beach and a cave beneath it, this gives the place its romantic and mystery look.

The river is deepest in the spring so it is a perfect time to visit this nature masterpiece.

7. God’s Bridge

It’s really unique pace which is situated near Lilyache village and its form was formed for centuries by the near river.

The arch told us that the river was deeper in the past but nowadays it dries up in the summer. But the magical view cannot be changed. It is like a frame which catches the green views.

9.  Eagle’s nest

It’s a tiny house above Lakatnik and it really deserves its name. The reaching is really hard to be done. The main purpose of the building is a shelter for mountaineers. It was built in 1938 by four Bulgarian mountaineers.
